For more than a decade, RMTC has been working to sustain health professions education in rural places through mutual encouragement, peer learning, practice improvement, and the delivery of technical expertise – all in support of a quality rural workforce.

Our History

RMTC is proud of our long history supporting rural health
and looks forward to continuing that work

Participating Programs

RMTC’s participating programs can include residency programs in medicine, medical schools, other health professions programs, or rurally invested programs that:

  • may be located in a rural place by at least two federal definitions, though some in urban settings may still be rurally focused
  • offer a rural track program, pathway, or focus
  • are focused on rural health outcomes and invested in preparing health professionals for rural practice

Participating programs receive a host of benefits including recruitment support, policy guidance, technical assistance, networking opportunities, and more. Participant fees support the infrastructure of the collaborative and the mission of the organization.
